The People

Quinta de la Rosa is run by Sophia Bergqvist and is assisted by her brother (Philip) and Jorge Moreira, La Rosa's wine maker.  Jorge is supported by viticulturalist, Nuno Barros and assistant wine maker, Hugo Rodrigues.  As Sophia is often on the road selling La Rosa's products, team work and loyalty is vital.  Many have worked at La Rosa for more than 10 years and Nelson Gonçalves (bottling line) is fourth generation to work at La Rosa.  His father, Salvador, is in charge of making the blends. Carina Batista is in charge of our bottling planning, orders and label approvals whilst Cilina Vilela is in charge of everything to do with numbers and accounts.

Tourism is becoming an important part of our business and way of life.  Hospitality has always been core to the spirit of La Rosa with Sophia's grandmother, Claire always welcoming visitors.  Now a little more commercial, we offer accommodation, guided visits, tutored tastings and meals.  Alina Pereira runs the tourism with Felicia heading up housekeeping.  In the restaurant, Pedro Cardoso is our Executive chef and Pedro Esteves head of front of house.
