Tourism is becoming an important part of our business and way of life. Hospitality has always been core to the spirit of La Rosa with Sophia's grandmother, Claire and more recently her father, Tim, always welcoming visitors. Now a little more commercial, we offer accommodation, guided visits and meals. Alina Pereira runs the tourism, Pedro is our new chef and Felicia (cleaning). Between them they speak English and Portuguese. Sophia and some of the family also speak French.
Apart from the extended Bergqvist family, one or more who are often at La Rosa, we also have many others associated with the wine and port working around. Jorge Moreira, our wine maker, and Nuno Barros, our viticulturalist, are often at La Rosa as well as Fernando and Bruno (full time maintenance and pool men).
