‘Behind the Label’ – 2012 Dourosa, Quinta de la Rosa, Douro, Portugal (£12.00, Oddbins). The Douro river may well be famous for its vertiginous sloped banks which are home to the vines that make Port, but there is also a new style of wine emerging which will undoubtedly hit the spot. Mighty reds, made from the same raw materials, show floral beauty on the nose and intense structure and black fruit prowess on the palate. This is another winner with the Spicy red lentil soup recipe.
