Every year
The Opposite Hill Challenge
Every year we invite people to take part in the La Rosa Hill Challenge: swimming across the river and climbing the hill on the other side. The idea is for it to be fun, so we encourage everyone to take part, whether they want to run or walk. It is followed by a celebration lunch back at La Rosa.
The tradition can be traced back to the 1920s, when people’s times were noted in the back of the visitors’ book. There are plenty of famous port names — some even have ‘failed’ by them!
